What will I be doing?

Reporting to the Head of Projects, responsible for the execution, project management, and coordination of all projects allocated to the Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities include:

  •  Plan and monitor the projects overall progress; Resolve any issues and instigate corrective action as appropriate (Issues management and analysis)  
  •  Ensure the delivery of new products and/or services from the projects is to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, according to the project plan  
  •  Take responsibility for the quality assurance and overall integrity of the project and service provision 
  •  Risk assessment of projects and subsequent mitigation management to ensure successful completion  
  •  Manage 3rd party contributions to the projects as appropriate  
  •  Manage dependencies and interfaces between projects  
  •  Communicate to relevant stakeholders  
  •  At regular intervals report progress to the Senior Field Project Manager and CEO on all aspects of the performance and development of the projects. 
  •  Regularly tracking key objectives of all team members including weekly reviews and general support activity through appropriate Key Performance Indicators 
  • Improving existing KPI metrics by identifying and driving projects to achieve continuous improvements in line with business objectives. 
  •  Completing ad hoc monthly reports as requested by Management

What skills do I need?

  •  3rd level qualification in engineering discipline either electrical, mechanical or qualified by experience 
  •  Proven track record in a customer-facing role 
  •  Service experience in one or more of the following market segments: automotive, heat treatment, industrial power or commercial marine 
  •  Product knowledge of vacuum furnaces and associated equipment 
  • Extensive experience in commercial business practices and contract conditions 
  • Line management experience 
  •  Knowledge of MS Project, understanding of budget control and resource allocation procedures 
  •  Ability to manage large teams across multiple sites and create a sense of teamwork by pulling together the different members of the project teams who may be unrelated and dissimilar 
  •  Highly motivated, problem solver with an extremely positive attitude and approach 
  • Considerable experience in Vacuum Furnace operations, design and engineering
